Green herb dip with crispy khobez

Growing herbs at home means you will always have a good and organic supply to add to your recipes when you need it.

Tender herbs like curly parsley, coriander (freshly cut from our small balcony garden) compose the base of this green aromatic dip; served along with crispy white khobez bread. Luckily, yogurt’s cooling nature brings also a wonderful refreshing kick.

Servings: 2

You need: 

  • 1-2 small white khobez bread* green herb dip with crispy khobez bread
  • 12g curly parsley sprigs
  • 12g coriander sprigs
  • 1 teaspoon olive-oil
  • pinch of salt and pepper

Version No.1Regular

  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise

Version No.2: Vegan/Dairy-free

2 tablespoons soy yogurt

1 tablespoon tofu mayonnaise


Cut khobez bread into strips or small triangle wedges. Set aside.

Meanwhile, in the bowl of a food processor combine parsley and coriander sprigs, olive oil, salt, pepper, yogurt and mayonnaise.

Process until smooth.

Refrigerate the mixture for 10 minutes.

Serve with white khobez bread. Decorate with yogurt drops (optional).

By removing the bread from its package it will be crispy enough by the time you serve your dip.

* Khobez is the Arabic flatbread, also know as Lebanese bread, baked in a traditional manner using specially selected flour. . This type of bread is suitable for vegetarians and vegans, because it doesn’ t contain any artificial colouring or flavourings. Tow more positives of khobez are: there is no fat added and is low in salt.

    I like it…you can also take the bread,cut it in triangle pieces and bake it in the oven for a few minutes to make it crispy like chips.
